Decorating with Deco-Mesh

I was so inspired by "Liz @ Savvy Seasons By Liz" that I went out and bought my first rolls of Deco-Mesh at Hobby Lobby. Her blog is one of my faves! she has so many wonderful ideas...... sigh wish she lived closer so we could shop together, lol!
Anyway, I am wishing all of you many blessings for the coming year!
A big Thank You to all of you who have stopped by to comment and follow my blog. You are all very much appreciated! :) On a side note, "Dimple Face" my youngest child, Ian is in one of the pics, lol. Next year I hope to improve upon what I learned(the hard way) about decorating with Deco-Mesh.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

Hopefully all of you are done or close to being done with your holiday shopping. As for me, well I blush to say this . I haven't even started, yikes!!! I know, sadly that's the way it has worked for me the last few (ok 10) years. It seems like , I am always so busy that it just never works out that I will be ahead of the game. Maybe next year? Who am I kidding??? oh well. Onto what has happened in my neck of the woods this week.
Been trying to get ready for tomorrow's Flea/Farmer's market. it's just not working out. First and formeost, sigh........ my tables are gone. Poof, gone, just like that. That is huge for me, without tables, how do you merchandise your booth? More importantly, my friend (Former Owner of antique store) is moving, so this weekend, she is having a moving sale. This is like a antique, vintage, shabby chic DREAM! She is selling all of her inventory and I am going to be there to help. Somethings are just more important.
I will keep you updated on my progress, and have some pictures that I will post ASAP. Take care all of you and Happy wrapping/shopping!

Being MIA

Well, I know it's been a Very long time since my last post. So much has happened. First my very good friend who owned the Antique store where I had my booth lost her business. Very sad day for so many of us. She is one of the most creative, kind and giving people I have had the honor of working with.
Since then, I was waiting to see if she would contiue to buy and sell antiques in some capacity. Sadly, she is not. So, now I am (nervously) going to venture out on my own, Like a baby bird leaving the nest..... I actually loaded up our truck with 90% of my inventory and drove over to a local anitque shop and gave it all away. Crazy, I know! I thought maybe I should give this up too.
I miss buying and selling and upcycling so much, that at last I have decided to give it a go, again....
This is something I thoroughly enjoy, and when I am not creating something, it feels like there is a big gaping hole in my life. It's strange I know, my other half thinks I'm crazy, lol. He doesn't get any of this. That's ok, he doesn't have to.......
Making this choice to build up a business on my own have given me much trepidation, but excitement and happiness too.Been making my business plan, have some great ideas for my company name/logo. I will be asking all of you for input on this to help me decide. Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Frenchy Vanity Chair

So here is a little vanity chair I painted and re-covered the seat. Of course the graphics are from "The Graphics Fairy"! This was a fun and easy project to do, now just want to make a little pillow to go with it.

Fairy in a jar

So I have always had a love for fairies since childhood. So many of the stories about fairies would spark my imagination and I would lapse into some of the most wonderful daydreams. Growing up I was sick a lot and had to spend most of the time indoors entertaining myself. Wanted to make something with a nod towards childhood dreams and imaginary friends.....

"A woman can accomplish so much when wearing a tiara"

Here is one of my latest creations, a coffee filter wreath. This has been dyed with tea and coffee, then added vintage lace, pearls an antique skeleton key , and graphics from "The Graphics Fairy" . This was so much fun to make, I sure hope this goes to a good home!

D-Constructed shirts

Ok so it all started with being asked to participate in a Golf Tournament for charity. I was asked to wear the black shirt (Last picture) and represent the company on a certain hole. So when I looked at the boring guy shirt I was given, had to do something to make it better. This was the first one, as you can see this lead to trying different designs and seeing how many ways can you deconstruct a T-shirt.
Have deconstructed some formal gowns as well, mostly for costumes though. Really love to explore and see where my imagination will take me.
This was 2 years ago, and haven't really stopped creating since.........
